What Are Your Fees?

We charge the following fees for weekly or bi-weekly therapy:

Discernment Counseling is a time-limited and intensive process for couples on the brink of divorce/separation.

A limited number of extended deep-dive sessions (2 hours or more) are available for individuals and partners who want focused work on a specific issue or want longer sessions.

Do You Accept Insurance?

No. We are not in-network with any insurance companies, and unfortunately, we cannot provide superbills. However, we accept all major credit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards.

If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) through your employer or insurance plan or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you can use these funds for therapy.

If you don’t use your FSA funds you may lose them, so this a great way to take advantage of this benefit.

Weekly, Twice-Monthly, or Monthly Therapy?

Weekly therapy is ideal.  However, not everyone can afford weekly therapy – especially in this economy.  Many of my clients come every other week, which allows them to benefit from therapy without overwhelming their budget.

Once a month just isn’t frequent enough to make progress; however, I have clients who have “graduated” from therapy and still come back occasionally.  

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

I reserve a consistent weekly (or bi-weekly) appointment time for you.

Cancellations: Please provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. I’ll do my best to offer an alternative time that same week when available, or potentially a double session the following week.

Late Cancellations: Life happens, and I understand that emergencies come up. Your first late cancellation (less than 24 hours notice) is complimentary. After that, there is a $35 late cancellation fee for missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

Flexible Scheduling Option: If a weekly reserved time doesn’t work for your schedule, we can schedule sessions based on availability. This works well for unpredictable schedules, though your preferred day and time may not always be available.

Good Faith Estimate

This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of services that are reasonably expected for the services to address your mental health care needs. The estimate is based on the information known to us at the time of the estimate.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.

Individual sessions are $125, Relationship sessions are $150, and Discernment Counseling sessions range from $300 to $350.

If you are billed for more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

You may contact us at 214-997-9041 or ellery@goldfinchlls.com if the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can request an update to the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill.

There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.
